SIDNEY ANGLERS’ ASSOCIATION (SAA) SALMON ENHANCEMENT FUNDRAISER

RULES AND REGULATIONS 2024 

 

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Any individual (including SAA Fundraiser Committee Members) may enter the SAA Fundraiser by purchasing a Boat Ticket and agreeing to abide by the rules herein.

 

SAA RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  • SAA will appoint Fundraiser Officials whose decision in respect to the application of any of the SAA Rules and Regulations shall be final and binding on all Contestants.

  • Boat Ticket holders must only fish within boundaries set by the SAA (see attached map or our Tide Book))

  • Boat Ticket holders can have as many rod holders (“Contestants”) as deemed safe and must present the Boat Ticket to Fundraiser Officials upon request and when weighing in fish.

  • By purchasing a Boat ticket all Contestants in the boat agree comply with the SAA Rules and Regulations as well as Fisheries and Oceans Canada Regulations. Any violations by a Contestant will result in the Boat being disqualification from the Fundraiser, including all Contestants in the Boat.

  • Once paid, Boat Ticket charges are non-refundable. The only exception is in the case of the Fundraiser being cancelled.

  • Nothing in the SAA Rules and Regulations shall be interpreted in any way so as to change, vary or modify Fisheries and Oceans Canada Regulations.

  • Contestants are only permitted to win one cash prize, but are eligible for all merchandise prizes.  

  • Patrol boats will roam freely and answer all calls on VHF Channel 68. VHF channel 16 will be monitored. 

  • Contestants observing any violation of the Rules and Regulations set out herein, or the Fisheries and Oceans Canada Regulations shall immediately report such violation to the nearest patrol boat.

  • Contestants must be in possession of a valid Canadian Pacific Tidal Fishing License.

  • Weigh-in will be at Port Sidney Marina Event Tent on wharf "A" from Noon until 4:00 p.m. on Sat, Mar 30th and from Noon until 2:00 p.m. on Sun, Mar 31st. Boats are to line up at wharf "A" prior to or by 4:00 p.m. on the 30th and 2:00 p.m. on the 31st.

  • Boats arriving at Port Sidney Marina wharf "A" after 4:00 p.m. on the 30th and 2:00 p.m. on the 31st will not have their onboard fish weighed-in.

  • Salmon are not to be cleaned prior to weigh-in.

  • Salmon will be weighed to the nearest 1/10th of a pound.  In the event of a tie, the winning fish will be decided by the flip of a coin. The other fish will receive the next prize in line.

  • All salmon entered for prizes shall be inspected, weighed and certified by a Fundraiser Official.  

  • If, in the opinion of the Fundraiser Official, the salmon has post-rigor, determined to be foul hooked or any other violation of the tournament Rules and Regulations is evident, the Contestant and all those within the Contestant’s boat will be disqualified. Official weigh-in personnel will have the final decision.

  • Once salmon are officially weighed, Contestants are responsible for storing and cleaning their fish.  

  • Prizes can be claimed by the Boat Ticket holder (or a Contestant from the Boat with a copy of the ticket) at the post Fundraiser prize presentation at Port Sidney Marina wharf "A" Event tent following the final weigh-in on the 30th. Unclaimed prize winners will be notified.
